Our Story
Our Lasting Learners adventure began long ago when Mrs. Lauren was just a little girl. Growing up she watched her parents start their own business and turn it into a very successful company. She always knew she would start her own business one day! She loved to play school growing up and when she grew older she loved babysitting. Once she was in college she knew she wanted to work with children and worked at multiple daycares while she earning her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies and becoming a certified teacher.
Mrs. Lauren loved working as a first grade teacher for Round Rock ISD. She spent six years at Chandler Oaks Elementary School and had the privilege of getting to know many wonderful children and their families. During her time as a teacher, her husband Mr. Danny started his own business dealing in computer security. This sparked her dream of starting her own business again but couldn't bare the thought of leaving teaching or her love for children. So together Mrs. Lauren and Mr. Danny thought, why not do both and the planning came at perfect time with Mrs. Lauren's pregnancy. It was the perfect time for her to pursue this dream, not only does she get to continue her passion of teaching children but she also gets to spend the days with her son J.D.
Mrs. Lauren and Mr. Danny have been on many adventures but this is one they know will be an all time favorite! Lasting Learners Academy will take many children on many adventures!
Our Mission Statement
At Lasting Learners Academy we believe in developing young learners. We encourage family interaction and for parents and teachers to work together. Our students will explore and experience the world around them. We will inspire creativity and foster growth that will create experiences for lifelong learners.
A Day at Lasting Learners
At Lasting Learners Academy we provide many different learning opportunities
for our little scholars. Lasting Learners will accept 3-5 year olds. We will be using
a researched based curriculum called Mother Goose Time. We will implement
the program Handwriting Without Tears & other resources that are used by
Round Rock ISD & Leander ISD. Our little scholars will participate in literacy
circles, math circles, morning meetings, learning centers, nap time and
snack/lunchtime all in our main room. We then have our Lasting Learners
Little Library where we will have story time, puppet shows, dramatic play
and the kids will be able to check out books to take home and enjoy with
their families for the week. We also have our Lasting Learners S.T.E.A.M. Room
which will be setup for rotations. Our little scholars will have the opportunity
to participate in an art activity, a build & create activity, a technology activity
on IPads & a science observation/experiment! All of these rotations will connect
back to our “big idea” that we will be learning about throughout the week. Then of course
we have the backyard with a playhouse, slides, sandbox, water table & our
Lasting Learners Little Garden.
